WHAT'S NEW!
October is Circular Economy Month!
Markham joins many Canadians to celebrate Canada’s public awareness campaign dedicated to empowering and educating residents to support environmental goals designed to protect planet and people.
A circular economy focuses on extending the lifecycle of the goods we buy to conserve our natural resources and encourages us to adopt a new environmental philosophy: Refuse – Reduce - Reuse!
October’s campaign includes the annual Waste Reduction Week (Oct. 20 to 26) with daily themes highlighting Markham-specific waste diversion programs.
Go Green, Go Digital!
Download your favorite digital flyers online so you can skip the paper flyers piling up in your mailbox.
For more information, visit our Blue Box page.
eWaste - Now accepted at all Markham Recycling Depots!
Markham Recycling Depots are now accepting your unwanted electronics for safe, responsible recycling – at no charge to you.
Electronics are filled with valuable resources like glass, plastic, gold, silver, copper, palladium and more. Proper recycling ensures that these heavy metals are handled safely to protect our environment.
Know before you go! Protect your privacy - you must clear all personal information from computers, cell phones, any electronics prior to drop off. The City of Markham is not responsible for personal information contained on your electronic devices nor are we able to retrieve or return items.
For more guidelines, accepted items and Depot locations visit our Electronics page.
