Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day - German Mills Settlers Park

Celebrate World Migratory Bird Day at German Mills Settlers Park! Your guided bird walk begins at the Main (south) entrance across from 7200 Leslie Street, north of Steeles. You will learn about the importance of protecting birds and their habitats. How to differentiate between the bird species that are migrating south after raising their families in Markham as well as the species who will overwinter here with us. We will highlight the need to create and adapt environments to support bird populations across all communities, including our bustling city. Your walk leader, Theresa Moore, Field Naturalist and amateur photographer will share her knowledge of birds, ethical wildlife viewing and photography. She will also discuss the importance of preserving the habitats that birds call home. This program is restricted to ages 8 and above.
