In accordance with Procedural By-Law 2017-5, Confidential/Closed meeting Policy 6.1 (h), and the Municipal Act, 2001, Section 239 (3.1), this meeting is being held for the purpose of educating or training Members of Council, and no decisions shall be made or considered. As such, this meeting is closed to members of the public.

The tour will highlight key developments, illustrating successful urban design approaches and challenges, offering practical lessons learned that can inform the development of the City’s Urban Design Guidelines and how we shape developments in Markham’s intensification areas.

Markham Council is responsible for setting the policies of the Corporation. It approves recommendations made by various committees through by-laws and resolutions. The Mayor is the head of Council. Meetings generally occur twice a month and special meetings may be called by the Mayor or upon the request of the majority of members of Council.
